Solar System Orrery Model Brass Gears Stone Planets 28 Moons
€54,99
Planetary motion is hard to picture—see it unfold
Visualize the planets’ movements around the Sun — 9 planets including Pluto, 28 moons, stone spheres, and exposed brass gears
Why Is This Model Perfect for You?
✔ See celestial motion in action: Watch the Moon trace its path around Earth as Earth travels around the Sun. The mechanism also demonstrates the striking difference in orbital speeds, with Mercury completing a model orbit in about 4 seconds and Pluto’s taking about 4 hours.
✔ Detailed brass and wood construction: An exposed set of solid brass gears reveals the mechanism at work. The gear assembly sits in a twelve-sided oak barrel on 12 solid brass feet, topped with an engraved brass calendar and zodiac ring and a detachable brass armillary half-sphere.
✔ Nine planets and 28 moons: The display includes all 9 planets, counting Pluto, along with 28 moons. The Sun, planets, and moons are made from fine semi-precious stone spheres; brass planet versions with stone moons are available by special order.
